Wow! Wow! And Wow! I couldn't agree more - I think! I get weary of trying to listening to the grumpies attacking anything and everything that's not exactly as they think it (they) should be! Though affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention we yet created a fellowship of believers that was tolerant of others whose belief system was sometimes different in various areas. So many of them had come from other denominations and backgrounds where the "teaching" was different in some respects - great people who loved the Lord but had been excluded from other Baptist churches. Or felt they were. A minister friend who had resigned his church and was attending ours for some TLC eventualy said to me: "David! If these people ever find out how different some of their beliefs are, it will blow this church apart!" My response was: "What you haven't been here long enough to realize is, they KNOW there are many different beliefs among them, but they just don't care! They meet at the cross of Christ and fellowship on the other side of the open tomb!" I was the founding pastor and served there for 21 years - what a precious, loving people they were! So, cudos to you, dear friend!
