Cynthia,

On a somewhat related note, InternetMonk.com has a post today on the view of Salvation in different churches. It is a very interesting read getting perspectives directly from Pastors and Priests within those churches.

This is a powerful post. As an evangelical married to a lapsed catholic, I have had the privilege of attending masses during holidays and special events. I look around at the beauty, the incense, the reverence and I say "The Roman Catholic church has something that is lacking in the evangelical church" But then I go to my own church and see the worship and eagerness for a personal relationship with God and say "The evangelical church has something that the Catholic church is lacking". Neither is evil. Both are deficient. It must grieve God when we celebrate the sinfulness that resulted in two churches, each with an important message, yet living separate missions.
